Don't feel lost a lb?

Hello,

I've been doing P1 for one week now and although I feel better in myself for taking control, I don't feel I have lost anything. I haven't stepped on the scales because I don't want to to find an excuse to give up. But I need to know if I am doing this right??? I am certainly not scrimping on my protein portions during my meals - in the evening I have a medium or even large chicken breast or piece of fish. I hope this is ok? I am happy with my menu plan as I like everything and it works for me, but is it too much/ little?

Breakfast - 2 egg omelett with veg (cooked in Canola oil and splash of soy sauce)
snack - 15 almonds & 1 cup of skimmed milk
lunch - low-fat feta cheese, chickpeas, salad & balsamic vinegar (or grilled chicken salad with 1/3 avocado & chickpeas) - I take these to work with me from home.
snack - low-fat plain yogurt, 1 cup.
dinner - fish (or chicken) steamed with veggies.

I also have low-fat cottage cheese or low-fat ricotta in there too sometimes, but am not sure how much is acceptable as a snack? 1 cup seems too much so I have just sort of been having a couple of tablespoons or so!? And when should I have it? I feel naughty if I have it aswell as all the above. Maybe I could have this as my afternoon snack and have the yogurt as my dessert instead?
I am working out for 40 minutes about 4 times a week too.

If anyone can advise that would be great. I am also hoping that when I step on the scales I will have lost weight, as a nice surprise!!!
Thanks in advance

thank you for your response. I am limiting the chickpeas to 1/2 a cup in my salads, and also if I have the feta cheese salad I wont have any cottage cheese or ricotta cheese. Its good to hear my menu plan is alright though, I feel a bit conforted by that!!!
Thanks again

Thank you. I do feel fine and generally very satisfied. I am coping really well without carbs - I used to have oats for breakfast but am loving the omelette! I also have a bread addiction (where I could just stand at the toaster and eat half a loaf in one go!!) but am feeling fine without it.

Yesterday though I kept thinking while I was at work "oooh what more can I have" and even popped to the nearest 7/11 looking for some LF cheese (they didn't have any!). I did end up having an extra glass of milk, but I don't feel that bad about doing that. In the "old days" I probably would have bought a couple of chocolate bars and eaten the whole lot so I was proud of myself for only cheating with a glass of milk!!!

I made sure today that I bought in some low-fat cottage cheese as a snack. I just want to check though, when having LF cottage cheese as a snack, how much should I be aiming for? 1 cup? And same with LF ricotta?

I want to lose about 18lbs in total (currently about 142)....and find a balanced way to eat forever, instead of dieting and binging which I have done ever since I can remember. I have always done WW, and this has worked for me in the past, but needed to try something new. Its hard to stop counting everything, and I love that we don't have to measure everything out. I'm looking forward to Phase 2 but am sure will have loads of Qions when that happens!
Thanks

Hi,

A serving size of cottage cheese or ricotta is 1/2 cup.

Have a great day!
