Not sure exactly what you are having done, but I had oral surgery years ago and it was not nearly as bad as everyone had me thinking. I was back to myself (maybe a little soreness) in a couple of days. SBD food-wise...let's see: sugar-free jello, ricotta, sufar-free popsicles, mashed cauliflower "potatoes", some of the phase 1 soups. And once you're feeling a bit better, you can probably chew things like tuna, salmon, cheese, low-fat lunch meat.

That's all I can think of now...but i'm sure other people have even more ideas!

Thanks so much, I am having three wisdom teeth removed. The jello and popsickles seem ideal. I never had any oral surgery so I do not know how I will react or if I will even want to eat.

I had 4 bone-embedded wisdom teeth pulled. They have to fracture the bones to get the teeth out...Truthfully, I wasn't in a lot of pain. I even stopped taking the Percocet because I didn't like the out of it feeling. I took a few extra-stregth Tylenol. I went back to work a day and a half later. I thin kthe biggest thing that helped was keeping the swelling down. I started icing my cheeks and jaw the second I was out of the doctor's. Popsicles and ice help take care of some of the internal swelling. Since I didn't swell a lot, I think I had less pain. Everyone is different and it's by no means FUN. But, it's not as horrible as everyone makes it seem. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

If chewing will be out of the question for a few days I'd make a chicken soup.

Are triscuits allowed in phase 1?

No, Triscuits are for phase 2.

Make a pot of soup for after your surgery. Very satisfying.

Good luck and feel better soon!
