Hi all,

Here I am on day 5 of Phase 1. So far, so good. I am excited about getting things under control. This week has not been bad at all as far as cravings or hunger. I am in it for the long haul.

My husband has been traveling all week and I would love to sit back tonight and have 1 (only one) glass of red wine with him. I know it says no alcohol for all of phase 1. Is that because it will increase my cravings or what? I just wanted to know what the rationale behind that rule was. I really just would like to have one glass, would that be bad?

Any thoughts?

Unfortunatley, it's very important that you avoid alcohol on phase 1. You are right in that it can trigger cravings. Alcohol is mostly sugar and during phase 1 we're trying to detox from those sugars.
