Phase I

Hi :)

When first starting out on Phase I, how important is it to follow the exact plan as set forth in the book? If I am truly looking for that 8-13lb loss, can I make substitutions from the list of phase I foods and still get a good loss? I am trying to be a little more cost effective.

I would appreciate any tips you might have on ways to save money and follow the plan correctly. I am excited about getting started today and look forward to losing about 20 lbs in the next few months!

Hi! You can absolutely eat anything you like from the Foods to Enjoy list for phase 1! The menus are there for guidance or for those who need a strict plan to follow to get them started. This guide will help: Phase 1 Meal Planner Guide

Just picking from the list of phase I foods according to whats on sale and not eating the specific meals as set out in the book.

You don't have to follow the menus from the book.

Just wanted to add that if you only have 20 pounds to lose, you probably aren't going to see an 8-13 lb loss in Phase 1.

They do say that you CAN loose 8-13 lbs in Phase 1 but it's by no means an AVERAGE.

Phase 1 is really for curbing cravings, while PHASE 2 is the actual weight loss phase.

Just didn't want to you be dissapointed/quit if you didn't see that kind of loss in 2 weeks.
