Okay so the Ricotta Creme recipe calls for sugar substitute. I do not like ANY of the artificial sweetners on the market, can I use natural substitues like Sucanot or Stevia? If i can't please explain why.

Thanks,
Christy

Most of us here prefer Splenda because it tastes more like real sugar with no or little aftertaste. You can use stevia, some here use it, but I believe it is cautioned against as it is not approved by the FDA. (I have never heard of sucanot).

I like Stevia myself. Buy the powdered kind because the other will go bad. Tastes good diluted (horrible straight). There are some foods it tastes better in that others. Yogurt is a good one.

Sucanat is dehydrated sugar cane juice so it is NOT a good option.

Thank you Lisa! I figured Suganat would be out but wanted to make sure first. I appreciate the input!
