Hi everyone,
Day 8 and feeling energized. I don't know if I have lost any weight but my face is thinner and I feel lighter.
My question is are protein bars acceptable? Are there guidelines for the carb or glycemic value?
I find them convenient and satifying.
Let me know.
Thanks,
Beth

I'm glad to hear of your success!

Meal replacement bars are allowed in Phase 2 - here are the general guidelines:

  • Meal replacements bars are designed as a substitute when you have to miss a meal or there are no healthy choices available.
  • They are not meant to be eaten as a snack or instead of fresh whole food
  • They are for occasional use only (once per week).
  • A meal replacement bar is not a complete meal. Add a piece of fruit, a serving of veggies, plus a serving of low-fat or nonfat dairy.
  • It is counted as 2 starch servings.
  • Look for those that do not contain high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated fats.
  • Look for a bar that has a mix of protein, fat and carb rather than one that is labeled 'high protein' bar.
  • Approved bars include:
    Kashi TLC granola bars
South Beach Diet high protien cereal bars
Atkins Morning Start - triple berry
EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control (sugar-free) Bars
