Hello! I am trying to start south beach again. It has been so hard w/ my birthday and having to celebrate. I have made a soup w/ low sodium beef broth, ff good seasons dressing packet, canned diced tomatoes, w/ a bunch of veggies. Is that ok?
Also, the salsa I bought has 1g of Sugar is that ok?
I made some eggplant w/ zucchini what can I add to make it taste better?
South Beach was really great when I did it previously I hope I can stick w/ it.

Welcome back!
Everything sounds good in the soup, except maybe the Good Seasons packet. You'd have to check the ingredients to see if there is sugar or any partially hydrogenated oils. My guess is that there is, in which case it would not be a good choice.
Salsa will always have a little sugar, since tomatoes have natural sugars. Look in the ingredients list to make sure they don't add other sugars, though.
How did you cook the eggplant & zucchini? My favorite is roasting it with a drizzle of olive oil & some kosher salt & cracked black pepper. When made that way it doesn't need anything else.
Hope this helped some!
Dana
Yeah I figured out the good seasons packet wasn't the best choice. I have alot of the soup made. How greatly will it effect me if I eawt the soup, can I drain the broth and will that be better?
The ingredients of the dressing is sugar, salt, garlic, potassium, citrate onions, cornstarch, maltodextrin.
Do you think if I drain the soup and just leave the veggies it won't effect me on phase 1? Thanks!
Hi,
Welcome back!
The question I would ask is how many grams sugar were in the packet? Then how many grams would be in each serving of your soup? Plus, it will be even less per searving since you removed the broth. My guess is the number is very low and in that case, no, it will not harm you at all.
Good luck!
Lisa.
