3 weeks on Phase 1

Just finished 2 weeks of Phase 1 today. Have lost around 13 lbs. Would like to go on one more week on Phase 1 to try and get close to 20 lbs. Is this a good idea? Anybody else done this? How successful were you at loosing more weight?

Hi Julie,
Congratulations on your weight loss!
It is not recommended to stay on phase 1 longer than 2 weeks unless you have alot of weight to lose (over 100 lbs.).
Phase 1 is designed to detox your body from bad carbs and to teach you how to eat healthy foods. In phase 2 we add fruits and grains which contain important nutrients our bodies need for healthy eating AND you will continue to lose weight. The downside of staying on phase 1 is that the foods are limited. If you become bored or unsatisfied with the food choices you are likely to cheat. IMO it's better to eat fruits and grains than to fall off completely.

Most people don't lose any additional weight by staying on phase 1 for that extra week.
