HI Everyone,
If you remember I was the one who posted I entered into a challenge with my boyfriend for 3 weeks to get "abs" so I figured I should start SBD again (did it before a few yrs ago & lost ALOT of weight "11 lbs" in Ph 1 -2 weeks). I assumed if I went on SBD, strictly, as well as add excercise (which I rarely did before) I would NAIL THIS! So here is where I am at.
The challenge was proposed on a Thursday Night Nov 17th - Friday I woke up and started (somewhat because I didn't have all the food) but started H20 & excercise...and then Sat. Nov 19th, I ate well all day but had a function Sat Night & ate stuffed shrimp <-(not sbd friendly) & had a drink...However come Sunday the 19th - I hit it Hard until Thanksgiving where of course I ate some not- so- SBD friendly items! BUT after that I excercised 2x's as hard & went right back to SBD even harder Friday, then Sat I even went to Mohegan Sun Casino to a GREAT restaurant & ate a salad & grilled scallops (one glass of wine) but TONS of water with it, and LOTS of walking, and excercised when I got home...No Deserts, No Sugar, I did well for being away the night!Even went to brunch the next morning and PASSED the entire Pastry Bar & waffle station-I had an Omlette with veggies! Other than those things I have been well behaved with food choices, I have excercised 30 minutes daily (eliptical machine) sometimes 20 because I'm tired at the end of the day..I gave you my menu on my previous post which I was told looked Good but I guess I'm not seeing the loss like I did before. I mean after 5-7 days before, I was shocked how I dropped weight! Is it because of those things that happened in between (the Sat night function, Thanksgiving & the night away)I went from being a person who drank Coffees all day the "Big Ones" with Xtra Cream & Xtra Sugar 4-5 times a day & Rarely had good meals & ate lots of carbs mainly to going on SBD, drinking maybe 1 or sometimes 2 coffees a day with a touch of FF 1/2 & 1/2 and TONS of water, along with excercising (didn't before) I figured I would see a greater loss here? I DO think I feel lighter on my love handles & butt but not seeing the scale go down? What should I do now? I'm frustrated?? Is it because my start of Phase 1 had those pitfalls & I need to keep it all consecutive days without a screw up. I did well all this week & can do it through next week too & MAYBE I will start to see the loss? Thanks everyone for your help & advice! My challenge is up Dec 7th but we are thinking of moving it UP a bit because he pulled his back out for a few days, which would help me! I appreciate your help. Sweetie :)

Hey Sweetie,
I'm sorry you are feeling frustrated. It can be disheartening the second time around when you don't see the rapid weight loss you did the first time. This is common.
Remember a few things:
A challenge is a great idea and can really be motivating. Instead of one definitive goal, how about turning it into a longer challenge with many mini goals and rewards?
Here is a Q&A with Dr. Agatston that may help:
Member Question: I have been on The Beach since January 11, 2005. I wanted to lose 13 pounds with a starting weight at 133 (height: 5 feet 3 inches). I am 48 years old, work out four to five times a week doing Pilates, Tae Bo, and The Firm with weights. I have not cheated on the diet and have only lost 6 pounds! Is this normal?
Dr. Agatston: Yes. As mentioned above, it sounds like you did not have much weight to lose, and therefore you should expect much slower weight loss than someone who is bigger and heavier. Once swings in blood sugar and cravings are gone and blood chemistry is normalized, then it is difficult to lose more weight through food restriction alone. In fact, food restriction at this point may lead to muscle and bone loss, which results in lowered metabolism and yo-yo dieting. This is what I call the "Cosmo" effect. If you have reached the point where you do not have craving by having normalized blood chemistry and are still looking to lose weight, then you will have to supplement your dieting with exercising, both aerobic and resistance.
Stick with it Sweetie, you CAN do this - AND win any challenge!!!
