I'd like some feedback on my daily menus over the next several days because I find i'm not losing any weight and I'd really like to get this right.

Breakfast - 2 eggs, scrambled with canadian bacon and mushrooms And a V8
Snack - Soy Milk Latte (green tea) just found out it's quite high in sugar so that'a NO NO
Lunch - spinach salad with a small handful of oranges, roasted chicken and a capful of greek dressing
an arm and leg off a gingerbread man. :)

So it's not the best day - period day 1 and i needed some sugar i think but most of the days i've been good. This is my second cheat day.

For dinner tonight:
chicken thighs on the bbq (just seasoned with spices)
Broccoli and salad

Dessert: was thinking of cottage cheese and cucumber

other than the latte and the arms - is there anything else i'm really doing wrong?

Hi. I see several things wrong with your menu that could be the culprit.

First, you know the sugary latte is a no-no as was the gingerbread man. Oranges (all fruits) are for phase 2. Chicken thighs are not permitted. We choose lean meats such as white meat chicken breast. Does your salad dressing contain 3g of sugar or less per serving? Are you getting a full 4.5 cups of veggies and 2 cups of dairy in daily?

Take a look at the phase 1 meal planner - it may help: Phase 1 Meal Planner Guide

ok, so do you think i should start the Phase 1 over again? I know people say not to but maybe staying an extra week on it would be a good idea. what do you think?

I agree with Cathy. Just keep moving forward. You may find it useful to plan your meals and snacks in the morning and post them here in the Diet and Fitness Journals section

You said that you needed sugar. If you are on Phase 2, than you should try SF pudding that you make with skim milk. That will also help you get in your dairy. Also you can try sf jello with a little Reddi whip on top. Yum. One of my favorites right now is Skim milk blended with 6 frozen Strawberries. I add a little sf vanilla syrup to it. Or you could add a little vanilla extract. It tastes just like a strawberry milkshake. I always think I'm cheating when I have one. Another fave of mine is a sf fudgesicle, mixed w/ a tsp of natural peanut butter and add a little Lite cool whip. It really does hit the spot when I need something.

I'm still on Phase 1 and struggling through but I will definitely consider those when I get into the next phase.

Is the Vanilla extract sugar free? My husband was asking me about that...we have that artificial kind...it comes in a massive bottle.

Vanilla extract is sugar free - just check the label for sugars to make sure it isn't some kind of vanilla syrup.

You can try all kinds of extracts to flavor things: almond, orange, strawberry, brandy, etc.

Also, just to let you know....you can have the sf jello w/ reddi whip and the fudgesicle w/ pb in phase 1. I'm not sure if I would have made it through phase 1 w/out those. Good luck. I think you're doing great just by posting your menu and trying to work on it!
