Finished week on in Phase 1
| Fri, 12-15-2006 - 7:39pm |
Hello! Just checking in :) Today was day 8 on Phase 1 for me. I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 5 lbs in 7 days!!! Cathy - you had mentioned before that I could probably just do one week in Phase 1 to get back on track. I'm feeling great, and so pleased with my results. I will start exercising tonight (I haven't been up until now). I will probably start with one grain and one fruit and take it from there. Thanks for the support everyone. :)

Congratulations!
Tracey-
That is great! I am finishing up week one in Phase one right now. This was not that easy for me because I really love bread, pasta, and rice. I cant wait to be able to add some of these back into my lifestyle. What are your favorite meals so far? I am looking to get some different ideas. I tried chopped sirloin on the george foreman grill last night and had some onions on top and butter beans on the side. That was pretty good. The breakfasts have been the hardest because I dont like eggs too much. Anyway, congrats!

Hi Jenn-
Thanks for the note :)
I know exactly how you feel, believe me. This is actually my second time starting out on SB. This time on Phase I was much easier for me than the first time. I really struggled the first time, a lot. But I love bread and potatoes, they are (or were) probably my 2 favorite foods. I don't really care for rice much, so I don't miss that. Luckily, I have always loved vegetables, and never had a problem eating them, so that part is easy for me. However, I am a very picky eater - I don't eat beef, pork or any cheese except mozzarella, so it kind of makes things difficult for me. My favorite dinner is chicken (baked or grilled) with a large side of veggies - that is what I eat most nights. I also love chili made with ground turkey instead of ground beef, I love lentil soup, cannellini bean soup, salads with grilled chicken, those kinds of things. I am kind of a repetetive eater, but that is really by choice, because I have a limited appetite. I can honestly say that this is the only "diet" that has ever worked for me, and when I follow it correctly the weight literally melts off me, almost like magic, LOL! The thing that motivates me the most is telling myself "you can either eat whatever you want and be unhappy with your weight and the way your body looks, or you can follow this way of eating, give up a few things, and feel confident in your body, and feel so much healthier as well" so that usually does it for me when the urge to cheat strikes. But once I really get into it I really do lose those cravings and it's easy to say no to all the junk people try to push on me at work. Congrats on finishing your first week, and stick with this board, it's a great source of motivation! And keep in touch! :)
