Have more chicken with your salad...dont wait till you are starving to have your snack or your meals...its a matter of time before you stop watching the clock to see if its time to eat again! anyday now you will notice that you have not had

Good advice Luly! It's important that we eat before we reach the point of starving - we need to keep our blood sugar levels stable.

I wholeheartedly agree!!! The last time I tried to lose a few pounds, I decided that I would just eat 1 meal a day and eat a healthy snack around mid-day. Boy, was I wrong about that!!! I did lose about 15 lbs doing that, but it wasn't healthy and it didn't last either!!! I have never liked eating breakfast and am still having some trouble doing that most days. Some days I just manage some tomato juice for breakfast, others I am able to eat more, but the one thing I have NOT been since starting SB is HUNGRY!!! I'm still having to consciously tell myself it's time to eat something and go ahead and eat what I need to eat whether I am hungry or not. Maybe that will become routine, in time. I think my metabolism was at zero tho because this plan is really working well for me. I've been steadily losing about a pound a day, for about 9 days now...and without cravings or being hungry. I really can't ask for better than that. DH is still hanging in there...he has only lost about 3 lbs so far and we started on the same day. It's really surprising, since he ALWAYS loses faster than me...except this time, but then again, he is already used to eating lots of salads for lunch, so this isn't really a huge change for him. He's in it for the long haul, just like me tho. We're going to do this together, we've made up our minds that this is a life-time change for us!!!

Thanks! Your tips for snacks helped me alot, too! I was having some of the same problems! I guess it's called sugar withdraw!!!! But I plan on trying some of your tips for snacks, too. It's crazy to think that you can become addicted to sugar that much...never really realized it was that toxic. I'm now realizing I'm a carbaholic and can't wait until I don't crave it so much. I wonder if it takes longer for some people to get rid of the cravings than it does for others. I would think it would because everyone's system is different. Before all I ate was carbs and hardly any protien except in eggs once in awhile and meat about 2-3 times a week. I could go all day just eating carbs so this is a big change for my system. I'm also a chocolateoholic(is this a word..lol) and a sugaraholic. I better stop when I start making up words...lol
Thanks for the great snack tips!! Kayless

I didn't get a lot of headaches on phase 1 this time around (my third, after about 6 or more months off), and I think it's because I drank a TON of water (close to double the required amount), made sure to get a TON of lean protein (lean chicken and tuna, roasted chick peas, natural chunky peanut butter in celery, beans, etc.), and I made sure not to cut out caffeine entirely. You CAN get through it -- you just need to experiment a little bit with what you eat/drink, and pay close attention to how your body responds. After the first few days (a week or so, perhaps) your body should start sending you clear "signals" of what it would like to feel its best. Try to listen -- it's not as hard as you think it will be. ;)

You can DO this. :)

Exactly, Luly! I sometimes feel like I'm eating ALL DAY -- and those are the days when I feel the best and when I see good results in my clothes and on the scale. Eating MORE is often the key -- if you're too hungry, your body will think you're starving and "store" fat, but if you eat a bit more (of good things, of course, not garbage) your body gets with the program. :)
