Newbie getting started here ....

My doctor actually put me on this diet for health reasons. I have a long way to go (about 60 pounds). I have been lurking around and found a lot of great ideas and wonderful support. I look forward to getting to know some of you. I have to say reading the success stories are true inspiration for me. A few years ago I lot a lot of weight on weight watchers, but it wasn't working for me this time. I hope that this diet will be much better. I have great self control when I have a plan to stick to. This way of life doesn't seem very difficult to follow. I will be happy when Phase I is over (to get a little bit of fruit back), but it's not that bad.

Welcome to the board! The women here (and especially the CLs) are wonderful and supportive. I definitely wouldn't make it through without this board!
There are several of us here who need to lose, or have lost, 60 pounds or more (me: 21.5 down, 38.5 to go). I've found it so helpful to get advice from people who have been exactly where I am! From time to time you'll see the "SB Divas" checking in --- that's those of us in the 50+ pound category. Drop in and let us know how you're doing.
If you have any kind of a question, someone here will be able to help. And if you have a tough day or a victory, we're here to share those with you too.

Welcome! I just recommited myself as well. Like you, I've tried the WW plan but I never felt full and a craved high carb/high fat/high sugar all day long. Good luck hitting your goals with the SBD!

I know what you mean about WW...it worked GREAT for me in the past, before Ds#2 and I tried it again this time around, but the scale just wasn't moving for me!! Since starting SB on Feb 1st I have lost 10+ lbs!!! I really like it and I actually find it easier than WW and the whole figuring points thing.
