Hi, All! Just starting P1/Day 1 today!

Just thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. I'm Cathy (38), wife to John (39) for almost 11 years and mommy to Ryan (almost 8) and Aidan (5). I tried SB a couple of years ago and lost about 12 lbs. and kept it off for a while, which was great. Then, last year, I got PG but lost the pregnancy at about 8 weeks, and my weight took a turn for the worst. I'm finally recovering (physically and mentally) from it all, and I'm ready to lose that weight and keep it off this time!! I've kept a lot of the same SB practices in my daily life (we only eat whole grains, etc.), but I really need P1 to get back into it again. I leave for spring break vacation in 2 weeks, too, and need to put on a bathing suit in public, so it's never been a better time!!
I also do yoga and pilates 2-3 times a week and I have an elliptical trainer at home for when I can't get to the gym (sick kids, schedule conflicts, etc.). I'm trying to get on there 2-3 times a week, too.
I have most of the ingredients I need for P1, but I do need to go out this afternoon and get some more stuff. I was due for a run to the grocery store anyway, so I might as well stock up on P1 foods!! DH loves this diet, as well, so I know he'll be thrilled with salmon for dinner tonight. He better - he's getting it whether he wants it or not! LOL! ;-)
My SIL has been on it since Jan and has lost 20 lbs. (she has a 9 month old and is trying to lose baby weight) and my brother just decided to start it and it's been working for him, too. I'm so glad he's on it - he's almost 300 lbs. and really needs to get his weight under control for his health's sake. He's seeing the results on his wife, and I think he's finally realizing he needs to get it under control. My mom is also starting the diet today, so I have lots of family support with this. I'm psyched! And, I'm ready to start wearing size 8's and 6's (gasp!) again!!! :)

Welcome and best of luck to you. I am on Day 9, and down 6 pounds! My pants are loose and I feel wonderful. I have been eating a ton. I have even cut back on my workouts as I felt weak at first. And still lost 6 pounds!! I love this diet. You are gonna rock that swimsuit. :)

I'm doing well - eating everything to the "T" on the first 2 days of the diet, and I'm really loving everything. Last time, I just picked the things I liked best and did those, now I'm making ALL of the stuff it tells me to and really paying attention to portions, etc.
I LOVE the Cilantro Mayonnaise with the Turkey Wraps, and those Mocha Ricotta Cremes are def. my favorite snack. DH loved the salmon for dinner last night, and it was the first time I've had salmon where I didn't feel sick to my stomach afterwards. It was probably b/c every time I have it, it's in a restaurant and they glop a bunch of thick cream sauce all over it!! The garlic, lemon and rosemary on it was deelish!! I am really looking forward to making the fresh hummus, too - I LOVE hummus, but have never made it from scratch. It's great having all of these things from fresh ingredients, knowing every little thing that you're eating.
And, I'm feeling good. I worked out this morning and had plenty of energy. My goal is to work out every day if I can, even just for a little bit (even 20 min. on the elliptical makes me feel awesome!).
Thanks again for the welcome - I'll keep you posted on how things are going. So far so good!! Oh, and I weighed myself this morning - I know, you're not supposed to, but I couldn't resist! - and I was down 2.5 lbs! I started at 144 yesterday, and today I was 141.5!! WOOHOO!! My goal is 125, but I'm on my way! :)
