P1 Update!!

Hi ladies!

Just thought I would update everyone on my Phase 1. It has been going great. I haven't cheated hardly at all, the only thing was a litte alcohol on St. Patty's. I drank about 1/8 of what I would normally have drank on that holiday!!! And I was the only person drinking red wine in the bar. :)

Anyway, can someone tell me if these are ok- I assumed they were but wanted to check. I have had a couple of the non-fat lattes w/ the sugar free syrup from my local coffee shop. They have been a lifesaver, but I just want to make sure I am supposed to able to drink them on phase one. I have been counting them as a sweet treat/ snack.

Well, as of today, beginning of day 9, i have lost 6 pounds!! Yeah. I can see how people want to stay in Phase 1. I am honestly a little nervous to add back carbs but hopefully this phase has done a good job of killing my cravings so I can eat them in moderation!

Kind of emotional around here today- my little puppy is getting fixed today! I just dropped him off and am having a hard time focusing on work.....say a little prayer for him!! Thanks,

Emily

FF, SF lattes are legal.

Yes, adding back some starch in one's plan can be scary. I would start out slowly, have some legal bread as a sandwich and then the other meals protein and veggies.

Adding starch including fruit back into your plan now I think if you go slowly your body will adjust better to the added items.

Best regards

Thanks Linda!

I had a feeling the lattes were ok, but they are almost too good that I feel like I am cheating. :)

I will try the super slow adding of starches and hopefully that will help. It is so easy to snack on starchy things and then overdo it. I will have to stick to the eating plan and I should be ok. Thanks again!

Way to go losing 6 lbs! Don't be afraid of P2. It's the weight loss phase. I added cereal for breakfast and a piece of fruit in the afternoon at first. That really helped me to not go overboard.

yes, it is best NOT to snack on starchy items every when dieting. I have been eat somewhat low carb for a couple of years and every time I start to gain weight is when I pick starchy items to snack on. One of the items you can have are the SBD packages of whole wheat crackers. They are 100 calories per pack and are very good.

the thing I have learned is that portion control is watching calories are important no matter what plan you are on.

Good luck

Thanks Ladies!

I will try to stay away from the starchy snacks. I usually can't control my portion sizes with them so I should just stay away!

Thanks for asking about the pup- he is doing ok but is on some pain meds and is acting a little funny! He is super jumpy and seems to be hearing things that aren't there.... luckily I work from home so I can stay here with him.
