I don't want to feel this way, but I'm having a moment. lol When I tried sbd a year and a half ago I remember losing pretty easily at the beginning! Today is day 6, I am down 1 lb. I know that everyone loses weight differently, but I have always lost pretty easily it seems. I just don't understand the 1 lb thing when just a few weeks ago I was doing weight watchers and losing 2 lbs/week without even exercising, and now I am going to the gym everyday. Maybe I'm just gaining tons of muscle! lol Anyways, we'll see how things are when I officially weigh in on Monday! I'm not giving up because I feel great!! Just feeling a little down for a minute! That's all!

Hi Kari,

I'm sorry you're feeling down. What you're experiencing is not uncommon. Phase 1 is mainly for detoxing. The first time we go through it many of us see some rapid weight loss, but that rarely happens the second time around. Remember that phase 2 is the REAL weight loss phase. If your cravings are under control, I would suggest moving on to phase 2. Be sure to eat all your required foods, eat when hungry, and drink plenty of water. We sometimes tend to

I think your answer may be right in your question. You were just doing another diet program a few weeks ago and lost some on that. Usually we lose quickly at the beginning of any diet program - and usually its water weight. Sounds like you already got that "quick water loss" when you were on weight watchers. Those who see the biggest loss are those who are just starting fresh (not coming from another diet) and those who were eating REALLY badly just prior to starting - which you probably weren't if you were doing Weight Watchers.

WW works well at the beginning because you are creating a huge caloric deficit - meaning you are hungry, and teaching your body to survive on fewer calories (aka Lowering Your Metabolism). You go on SBD, which allows you to eat adequate calories for your body to survive, but your metabolism is already a bit lower than it was before you did WW - and therefore you definitely won't be losing as quickly.
