Love the Quick & Easy cookbook!

Tomorrow marks day 4 of phase 1 and so far, so good. DH and I both feel great and as an added bonus, I'm already sleeping better. I visited the library on the weekend and borrowed the SBD Quick and Easy Cookbook - this thing is a godsend! Tonight we had the Baked Barbecue Chicken and it was delicious--very moist and the barbecue sauce was so simple to throw together. Tomorrow night I'm making the Shrimp Stir fry, and there are some soup and breakfast ideas in the book that I'll probably make next week. I also tried plain fat free yogurt for the first time ever today. Blech! Thank goodness for the dairy ideas listed in the 'getting started' section - I mixed in some Splenda and vanilla extract and it became a tasty treat.

Just wanted to take a second and say THANK YOU to those of you who have had success on SBD for having this forum and being here to support those of us who are new to it all!

I love that book too!

Did you eat the yogurt plain?!? Ick! I'm glad you found our thread with the flavoring ideas! My favorite is a spoonful of natural peanut butter, splenda and vanilla extract!

Peanut butter with yogurt? That sounds interesting. I may give that a shot as I'm a big PB fan. I did have a little taste of the plain yogurt before I added anything in and it was disgustingly bitter. Thank goodness for Splenda or I think the tub would still be sitting in the fridge 4 weeks from now!

You can also add DaVinci sugar free syrups or some sf jello packets (use the powder sparingly).

I've borrowed the Q&E Cookbook and the original SBD cookbook from the library and am really considering buying both. So far I have made the baked chicken with SBD barbecue sauce, shrimp stir fry, roasted spicy cauliflower, sauteed peppers & onions, and the grilled pork chops with garlic and soy sauce. Everything has been delicious and easy to make. Tomorrow night we're having the warm salmon & asparagus salad, which I'm really looking forward to because salmon and asparagus are two of my favourite foods. I'll also 'offically' weigh in tomorrow, and I'm even looking forward to that!
