I've just started Phase 1 this week - I'm on day three - and I"m going through veggies and lean meats like there's no tomorrow....and these aren't cheap!

Can anyone help with low-cost ideas for me. I'd really reather do fresh, but it's so expensive, and I don't know if our budget will be able to handle it much longer.

Thanks so much - that's a huge help! I can handle canned and frozen - definitely don't prefer them and know there's much greater nutritional value in fresh....but I'll suck it up for now ;) At least until we win the megamillion jackpot! J/K

How I would LOVE to have free reign to Whole Foods or Central Market with no budget in sight. Ahhhh (winsome sigh)......a girl can dream, eh?

Frozen veggies are considered equal if not better in nutritional value than fresh because they are frozen right when they are picked. Also, depending where you live the quality of frozen can be MUCH better than fresh. When I lived in CA we got awesome fresh produce at local farmer's markets and produce stands right on the fields and such. We moved to TX last year and I was just appalled at the "fresh" produce I see in stores - it looks like its been sitting there for months. Not very appetizing, so I mainly buy frozen here.

Plus - and the biggest plus to frozen - it won't go bad before you use. So there is no wasted product if you change your mind, don't have time to cook that night, forget its there, etc.
