Family reunion

Tomorrow is my DH's family reunion. These women are all great southern cooks and get highly insulted if you don't taste what they brought. Family feuds have errupted over somebody's failure to taste Aunt Jenny's German Chocolate Cake or Cousin Betty's potato salad. We are just in the middle of phase 1. I seriously considered just not going but DH's mom has had a very difficult last few months and it hurts her feelings if we skip this event.

My question is how much damage will be done to the process if we go and eat small quantities of phase-1 no-no's? I know I'm asking a little late but hopefully somebody will see this before it's too late.

Thanks!

Family is much more important than food and it certainly isn't worth a family feud.

Another thought.....eat before you go and while you are there focus on any SB-friendly foods that are available (if any). If you feel you must try something, use the 3-bite rule.

Also, drink lots of water....and have fun!
