hi and welcome!
I too have just restarted the SB diet (did well on it last year, lost 18lbs, managed to gain 8 back...) My friend Rhonda told me about this website, its great. There is lots of support and great information to read up on. Are you on phase 1?
Hi Dee,
So, how was today for you? I am doing so well so far, I've been faced with many temptations, and I ran!!! As my family ate tacos, I ate taco salad. I think the few alterations to our family meals will be compatable with SB for me. I tried this amazing dessert that was suggested by one of the SB leaders here on ivillage. it's a sugar free fudgsicle, softened, mixed with one tablespoon of natural peanut butter and 1 Tbsp of sugar free cool whip or whipping cream. i didn't have the cool whip or whipping cream but it is soooo good even without it! It tastes like something very NON SB. Have you tried it before??? I dont' even have a sweet tooth, but I've been craving sugary things (must be my body adjusting). I'd like to hear about your day!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING THERE. and oh!! my GOD the dessert sounds GRRREAT, cant wait to try it. I LOVE SWEETS that is part of my problem..
I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU! KEEP IT UP! AND PLEASE KEEP IN TOUCH!
DOING GREAT TODAY! AND AFTER GETTING YOUR MESSAGE I AM GOING TO MAKE SURE I DO GREAT THE REST OF THE DAY! I WILL LET YOU KNOW ! PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW YOUR DAY WENT.
TALK TO YOU SOON!
Oh, fruit. I do miss that, but I have been telling myself that in less than two weeks, i will be eating fruit again. Good for you staying strong!! Man, I can completely relate to the evening munchies. I think when i am at work, I am too busy to be thinking about food, etc. AND I dont' have a fridge to raid, or cupboards to rummage through. So, when I come home sometimes the hunger hits me (or are they just cravings, looking for a little something??) and I graze up to suppertime. Big downfall for me! I've been off of work as of late because I had a wee hockey accident and crumbled my wrist bones (right wrist). So, I entertained myself with snacks - not good! After my surgeries, I now just wear a brace part of the day and I am on the mend. That is why I began South Beach - I had to stop the cycle and I could finally start exercising again! My wrist will be fine, probably back to normal in about another 10months, so i am lucky. Anyway, today I power walked for an hour, and did some gardening. I've been on the internet for a bit, and I suddenly got the munchies. I am trying to be conscious of when and why I get the munchies inbetween meals. A lot of it is habit! So, I literally have to talk myself out of attacking the triscuits, or the bread, etc. I had a few veggies reheated from last night with tzatziki (yogurt & garlic cucmber dip) It did the trick! I'm happy to say that I am having another great day...feeling in control, but taking it literally one temptation at a time!
Yes, the dessert is a must try. It is on the ivillage website with SB recipes I beleive. Otherwise our great leader could get it for you, I'm sure! How are you doing today?
