Back on the Beach Again

Hi All
I did South Beach a few years back and had some success but just wasn't that motivated I guess. Now in 2006, I had a baby and though I lost all the baby weight I want to lose the rest I need to lose anyway. I've been exercising (some), joined the Y a while ago, and have been doing South Beach (phase 1) again for 8 days. I have lost 2 lbs. My SO and my ds are also doing this but my ds who is only 10, I am only letting do it as much as he wants. He made the choice to bring a salad to school instead of eating the crap they serve at the cafeteria which is great. He's been doing the breakfasts and dinner with us too but if him and his sister who is a twig want to go have a little snack, I let him as long as it's not excessive. He is a little overweight and at his last checkup his dr. had said his blood pressure was borderline high for a kid of his weight and height so we have been trying to keep more active since then. I also had a problem with my blood pressure after the baby though it's come down and had a blood clot after giving birth so I am at a point where I'm just scared of getting old and falling apart. I'm only 34 but sometimes I feel 65. So that's us in a nutshell. Hoping to find the same support I found before on this board and hopefully share some wisdom too!

Hi
Thanks
That's what I keep emphasizing to my son, about making better lifestyle choices. I don't want him to lose weight because he's for sure still growing, I know if he changes some bad habits we've all had, he'll be just fine. I don't want to see my kids make the same mistakes I've made as I've gotten older.

My 13 year old on the other had hardly eats anything besides steak, chicken and potatoes and is on a special diet anyway due to her GERD, so with her, just getting her to eat is good.
