Need a weight loss partner
| Sat, 06-23-2007 - 2:42pm |
I am 37 and have struggled with my weight my entire adult life. I know what I need to do to lose weight, but I have realized that I cannot do it alone and I do not want to go the group /club direction. I am interested in finding someone who is also at the point in their lives that they really want to change through diet and exersize and would be a check person. Meaning someone who can be an inspirational support person and also keep me going when I want to quit..

Hi & welcome!
Thanks Cathy,
I will check in here daily. I am currently 190lbs and 5'3, so I have a ways to go...
So far, day one on south beach is going well. I have eaten correctly and have walked. Although, I am amazed at how many times I am pulled in the direction for cheating. Little things like going out for an ice cream or having a glass of wine. ugh! I will stick to the plan and keep going - thanks for the support
Hi and welcome to the Beach!! We can *all* be your partners through this process, that's what's so great about this group. I suggest keeping a daily journal in the iJournal section below, as well as reading other people's journals for lots of meal ideas. We frequently comment on each other's meals, exercise, and daily activities. Whether it's a quick "congrats" for making a good food choice or a reminder to eat your fruit during Phase 2, it's usually helpful for staying on track.
You might also want to check out the PACT thread under the exercise section. There are a few of us who are focusing on improving our exercise habits and we check in on a daily basis, trying to workout 6 out of 7 days a week. The PACT (Pledging A Consistent Time) keeps us motivated.
Good luck on your weight loss journey and keep posting! :-)
