I am on my 9th day of Phase 1 and in the beginning, in the first three days I lost 4.5 lbs. but then have gained one back then lost that one then this morning got on the scale and there it is again. I suppose I am a little frustrated b/c I think I am following the plan and I thought I would have continued losing especially in Phase 1. So I am coming to you all for help. I am attaching a few days of my menus and would love some feedback. I will start off by saying I have been light on my dairy, b/c I just realized we are suppose to have at least 2 servings, my old books didn't reflect that. So I will begin to incorporate dairy. But any other tips or advice would be great.

Day 1:
B: 2 eggs, 2 pieces of Canadian Bacon, 1 glass of V8
S: 15 Almonds
L: Cobb Salad: Lettuce, Tomatoes, 1/3 Avacado, Chicken
S: Celery with Lt. Herb Laughing Cow Cheese
D: Pork Tenderloin, Salad - lettuce, hearts of palm, tomatoes, black olives, Sting Cheese (2%)
D: Fudgecicle

Day 4:
B: 2 SBD Egg Muffins
S: 15 Almonds
L: Sirloin Burger with Salad and SBD ranch dressing
S: Celery, 2% Cheedar Cheese Stick
D: Sirloin Burger and Artichoke (steamed)
D: SBD Peanut Butter Cup Recipe

Day 8:
B: 3/4 c. Ricotta Cheese
S: 10 Almonds
L: Brixx Salad - Lettuce, sm amt of goat cheese and pine nuts add, Blackened Shrimp - Salad dressed in balsamic vinagrette(no crotons or bread)
S: 5 Almonds
D: Homemade Taco Salad - no shell - Lettuce, Olives, LF Cheese small amt, avocado 1/3, ground sirloin w/taco seasoning - no sugar
D: Reese's Smoothie - to get my milk in agh!

I have been working out at least 5 of the six days, either 1/2 hr cardio or a 1/2hr with my trainer.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! Sorry you don't get the results you were looking for. We are in the same boat. I'm on day 8 of Phase 1 and I lost 5 pounds only. I thought I would have lost 10 pounds the first week then 3 pounds... Not funny.

Your menu sounds right to me. I just don't know about the Reese smoothie. I also have the old book saying no milk no dairy the first 14 days and I did it the first 4 days like that. Then I started to get a glass of skim milk and a fat-free sugar-free yogourt as well.

Good luck. Keep going. Maybe we'll loose more in the second half of the diet???

I agree that I think you've had great success. You didn't say how much you had to lose - but not everyone loses the "8-13lbs in 2 weeks". This isn't a quick-fix, fad diet. Its a lifestyle. It took me 11 months to lose 67lbs - that averages to 1.5 pounds per week. A healthy and acceptable rate of weight loss is just .5-2lbs per week.

Also - our weight fluctuates. Its just a fact. It can be up a pound one day, down the next. Its NOT consistent. Lots of things affect the scale other than actual pounds of fat - water retention, unpassed bowel movements, undigested foods, etc. My weight constantly fluctuates by 1-2lbs. You have to get used to looking at the overall trend, not be stuck on just ONE days number.

Thanks Firebird_mom,

I have you say that your success is my inspiration. What an incredible story you have to tell. And you look amazing. I started 9 days ago I am 5'4 and I weighed 172.5 today I weighed 168. My goal is about 145. I do work out a bit so I have quite a bit of muscle but really want to thin down and not be so bulky. I am a type A personality so of course I want to see results instantly, but I keep telling myself that it will take time. I guess my main concern was that I was doing SBD correctly, which Cathy said my menu seems fine.

Anyway thanks for your comments I greatly appreciate them.

Christine
