Well, today I started phase 1 again. I cleaned out my pantry and my fridge. I even am asking hubby to start eating healthier - not SBD since he's so picky, but just not fish sticks every night. Grilled chicken with me, stuff like that. We're both getting away from the soda and the chips and cookies. Went grocery shopping and got all the good stuff - didn't even buy anything to "cheat" from. So, for day 1 it's going really good.

Breakfast so far has been a turkey sausage with sugar free syrup (about 2 tbsp) and a scrambled egg with some cottage cheese and a cup of 1% milk. For lunch I will have some salad and for dinner I am making italian mushrooms. My snacks are organic peanut butter with celery and cheese sticks or lettuce and turkey wraps.

I'm very excited to be starting the diet. I plan to take my dog for a little half hour walk along the creeper trail around 2pm, after it's not quite so hot outside. I will start out slow, don't want to burn out too soon. This is my third attempt at the diet, and if I make it through Friday I know that I will be successful. I look forward to being an active member on this forum and get to know all of you and get support.

Good luck to all of you!

Hi!

Do you really need to start all over again? If you haven't been able to stick with the limitations of Phase 1, why not go directly to Phase 2? You may find that you feel more satisfied since you'll be able to eat fruits and grains. Phase 2 is actually the real weight loss phase.

About your meal plan. It looks fine, however, I would suggest adding some protein to your salad at lunch and I sure hope you are having more than just mushrooms for dinner!!

Please consider moving to Phase 2 and let us know what you decide.

Hey!

Thanks for the tips. If I end up not stickig to phase 1 this time around, I will just jump right into the Phase 2 foods.

Today, like I posted, my breakfast was turkey sausage with a scrambled egg and cottage cheese with a little bit of sugar free syrup with 1% milk. For my snack I had some peanuts and a cheese stick.

*** EDIT:: For lunch, I had an SBD-Branded Frozen Entree (Chicke with broccoli) approved for Phase 1,2,or 3. I had a few peanuts to munch while I was preparing my dinner and aother cheese stick. ***

Then, for my dinner I had 2 portobello mushroom tops (about 2-3" diameter) topped with SBD marinara and mozzerella cheese all baked to yummy goodness. I also had a few bites of the baked chicken breast I made for my husband's dinner. I really haven't been as hungry today but I think it is because I had a large diet coke on my way to go to the grocery store this morning and since it says you should limit yourself to 2 caffinated diet cokes per day so the rest of the day I had just water. I ended up probably with 3 full glasses of water. With dinner I had a glass of milk (1% milk). For exercise, I didn't get to walk the dog (other than to the bottom of the hill in front of the apartment for a few minutes while she potties) so I picked up my little 3lb hand weights and went up and down the stairs in my apartment about 4-5 times and then did some stretches and some lifting with the dumbbells. I think today went very well. I just finished a sugarfree fudge pop.

My biggest problem is my days off when I get bored at home. That's when I usually feel compelled to "munch" in front of the TV and end up raiding my pantry for anything that I can eat while watching the TV. So, the next two days are my days off, soI need to find ways to keep from being bored. Luckily, I have a new class that is starting and that should keep me somewhat busy. Maybe I will take the dog for a walk or go for a drive and meet my husband for his lunch. I could always come online and post about how much I want a reece's bar... heheh.

Thanks again guys. I'll post what I eat and workout tomorrow also. I was browing and I will start using the iJournal to do that, though.

(I totally forgot to include my lunch yesterday when I posted this, sorry!)

Hey VK,
i'm on SBD too, ph1 w2 d2, and what i did was that i stick to phase 1 good-food list, BUT i eat everyday 1 slice of whole-grain bread, because i figured that i feel dizzy if i don't eat 'em (i had to become a food-detective, because at first i didn't know what mad me dizzy, but one never stops learning from oneself).
Maybe you could try something like this too? Because even if i praise SBD, we're all different and all diets are generalized, so you should find out what works for you. Even top-athletes work on their diets to figure out what's good for them (and when). So don't feel guilty if you 'cheat', we are all different, and it's not about being "tough" and surviving it. IMO a diet is a changing lifestyle, and one should enjoy it-with all the hardness, because it's hard to change habits!
Anyway, i'm babbling :) So keep up the good work and be proud-because "the miracle isn't that i finished-the miracle is that i had the courage to start".

M,

Thank you so much! Your words are very inspiring. That really does help me to put it into perspective. I think that I will lighten up on myself a bit. I have a really hard time with self-discipline: when I start something, if I mess up even just a little I get very hard on myself, and that usually breaks me down to the point I give up. An issue I will definitely strive to work on here with the support of everyone! Thank you for your tip. I will definitely work to see what works best with this diet if I need to make any adaptations. I think that my sugar free fudge at the end of the day just might save me! :-D

Here is to day 2!!

Best wishes,

*VK*

Hey,
glad i could help wiht a little support :)
The 'highlight' of the day for me was 2dl of sugar-free hot-chocolate (i know that i shouldn't have, but i am studying and without it i'd be dead:P )
Yeah, i'm kinda white-and-black type of person: i do something 100% or i don't. But diet is something that if i don't enjoy it-i won't stick to it. And feeling sick and dizzy isn't something i enjoy.....
I'd never tought i'd survive first week, but strangely week 2 seems to be more difficult for me :S (maybe because some of my enthusiasm and 'new-feeling' has faded...), but just have to keep hanging on!
(i've got my eyes on a skinny-jeans that i'm gonna buy when i'll hit my set-out weight!)
What's your motivator?
