Hey Everyone,

I have bought the book and gone over it twice. Problem is I am so overwhelmed that I don't know how to properly start SBD. What are people eating in Phase 1 besides eggs for breakfast. I don't want to screw this up, and I really want to make this work.

Thank you,
Michelle

I am looking forward to some answers to this. I started on Sunday, and am a bit sick of eggs, but I figure after 2 weeks, I can add a whole grain piece of toast with peanut butter for variety. I try to add stuff like mushrooms & cheese and make an omelet one day and have ham on the side another day, and even hard boiled with some cheese cubes on the side another day so it feels like I get to change things up. I have seen some recipes for quiche without the crust...

Hi Michelle,

The link that Joy gave you should help a lot.

Hi Michelle,

Just popping in to say hi and welcome!

It can be overwhelming at first. Take a look at the links the others gave you - especially the meal planning guide. Then, let us know if you need clarification.

You'll be amazed at how quickly you'll settle into this!

Hi Michelle, and welcome!

You have definitely come to the right place; the CLs and other members here can answer just about anything you can think up.

There are lots of good breakfast ideas in the links you've gotten. My favorite P1 breakfast is a Morningstar sausage patty and a Reese's yogurt (plain nf yogurt, about 1T natural PB, maybe 1T unsweetened cocoa powder, and 3 - 4 Splenda packets). Yum!!

You can also make a Reese's smoothie, substituting skim milk for the yogurt (or not --- I add less Splenda if I use milk) and a few ice cubes.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you!

I'm probably just crazy because I've given up on the idea of breakfast food. This morning I had chili for breakfast. I'm really sick of eggs so I decided I didn't have to eat breakfast food for breakfast. It took a bit to get used to that idea but it's really helped me. Now I don't dread breakfast because I feel like my choices are so limited. I can eat anything that fits into Phase 1's limitations. My husband's solution is to drink a V8 for breakfast every morning and have some cheese or nuts with it. I'm looking forward to Phase 2 as well. I love fruit for breakfast!

I am not sure if this recipe is included in the link that was posted here, but here is a recipe for Mock French Toast, and it got me through Phase 1!

Mock French Toast

2 eggs
1/4 cup part-skim ricotta cheese
1 tbsp vanilla extract
sugar substitute to taste
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)

Mix all ingredients in a blender. Cook in a skillet and serve with sugar-free syrup.
It pours like a pancake. I love mine with Morningstar Sausage Patties.

Also, sometimes I would just mix up my eggs with some cinnamon and splenda and scramble them and then drizzle with SF syrup. Might sound gross, but it was actually pretty good.
