Doing well so far - a bit irritable 2day

Good evening!  Well, today is my 3rd full day on SBD.  I took a couple of days to eat better - but not totally OP - until I felt truly ready.  It's hard for me, I won't lie (because I am used to eating a ton of sweets, like a whole bag of O-reos, etc) and I am not doing that any more.  Day 3 is usually a bad one, or so I have heard, so once tomorrow gets here I am sure it'll be a bit easier!

Part of my problem is that I didn't plan out today at all.  I had the following:

Bkfst: 1 egg + 1 white, scrambled w/ 2 pc. Canadian Bacon, 8 oz. ff milk (we were out of V-8, so no veggies)

Snack: none - at doctor's all AM and didn't bring one

Lunch: 3 oz. roasted chicken breast, med. Caesar salad (just Romaine and dressing with 0 sugar)

Snack: none.  I was napping, LOL!

Dinner: this is where I am stuck.  I didn't plan and am hungry.  DH (who prob. shouldn't be - just diagnosed diabetic) and DD's are eating pizza.  I did drink a glass of milk and just ate 30 pistachios to help me until I decide.  I don't want another salad.  I don't want to thaw out any chicken.  I am cranky, cranky, cranky, LOL!  My cholesterol is too high or else I'd eat more eggs (yum)!  Oh well, I'll decide soon.  Maybe I'll just snack.  PB.  Some celery and Laughing Cow.  Stuff like that.  I need more veggies today - about 1-1/2 C I think.

Anyhow, that's my cranky update!  Tomorrow will be better.  Oh - and I am down 4 lbs. so that is a huge bonus!  Take care, everyone, and hang in there!

Aw Laurie, sorry to hear you're having a tough day. I'll be honest, planning is the key. It is SO important to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks while on phase 1 and to eat from the Foods to Enjoy list whenever you are hungry. Although you are choosing wisely, it's best to eat an actual meal rather than snack throughout the day - you will feel more satisfied. How about a scrambled egg - maybe add some cheese and/or veggies to it - for dinner?

Feel better - do some meal planning - and head out to the grocery store tomorrow!

Hugs,

I'm sorry you had a rough day. Hang in there, you can do this.

Planning is key. Even if I don't plan breakfast or lunch it is essential that I plan dinner because by the end of the day that is when I am most "cranky" and weak. Try to think about dinner plans in the morning.

Hugs to you, and great job so far!!!

Hi Laurie, I too am on my third day. I am also having a hard time with the sugar craving,,I bought some sugarless popsicles (yum! and only 15 calories). I find I am a bit light headed today,,,sugar withdrawl???LOL

I made a pot of chili yesterday and a pot of split pea soup today, I can't get into the veggies all the time either but I am going to buy some V8 tomorrow.

I am pretty stuffed tonight and kind of worried I am eating too much,,,I am used to counting calories/points so not used to eating so much.

Well keep it up...let see if we can make it to phase 2.

very discouraged today... starting day 4 and I gained a pound. What's with that???
Could I be eating too much...I have been eating the right foods (eggs, split pea soup, chili, burger (no buns), veggies, no fat yougurt, skim milk hot chocolate (no more than 3 dairy servings a day), water. I do have one coffe a day with 2% milk (1 tbs).

I was a bit light headed yesterday.

I don't find that considering all the fibre I am having that I am going "number 2" that much but I do seem to be peeing lots (sorry for being so blunt). Is this normal?
