Hi Everyone..My name is Jenny and I started doing SB about a month ago. I have been doing phase 1 on and off for that month....I get hungry and enduldge on the weekends. Then when Sunday night comes, I get all depressed and I get back on it again. I know that I need to loose the weight...I only have about 20lbs to loose, but I cant seem to stick with it. Does anyone have some words of encouragement or what works for them?
And also, should I start back on P1? Thanks everyone- Jenny

It sounds to me like Phase 1 is hard for you to follow. Maybe it's too limiting for you to stick with. It sounds to me like you've been on it way too long too. I don't think many people would be able to do it for a month and stick to it. I'd go to Phase 2. I feel so much more fulfilled on it. I love grains and fruits. And there are more dessert options to give you a sweet fix. Forget the past. Move forward. Find the things you crave and find legal SB foods that will make you happy. There are salty, crunchy, sweet... you name it, there's something you can have. I've also found posting on the weekly weigh in helps me. I feel more accountable over the weekend because I know Monday morning I have to post. Keeps me under control! Hang in there. You can do it!!

I agree with Jammie. Sometimes it's best to move to phase 2 early. It's better to be satisified with phase 2 foods than to be limited (and feel the need to cheat) on phase 1. Remember phase 2 is the REAL weight loss phase.


Weekends are a challenge for all of us. There are some strategies you can use to help get you through. First, make sure you only have SB friendly foods around - get rid of all the junk and temptaions in the house. Second, PLAN, PLAN, PLAN. Write out your meal plan including all your meals and snacks, then shop. When you are armed with the right stuff, it'll be harder to fail. Also, if you are going to a function or event where you're not sure what will be available, you should plan to eat something at home before and/or after, or bring something SB friendly along to share.

This is exactly why phase 1 is meant to be two weeks - NO MORE. You said you have been on phase 1 for a month?? Please, move to phase 2 immediately! You are doing damage to your metabolism, depriving your body of healthy nutrients it needs and causing yourself extra struggle - which leads to binging.
