Welcome back and congratulations on the new baby!!

Just be sure to eat enough (your breakfast and morning snack couldn't hold me over until lunch time). Use the meal planning guide that Cathy posted and I'm sure you'll be fine!

Good luck!

Man! I wish I would have thought to start this so soon after my kids were born. I ate so little after each of my kids because I was so busy but everything I ate was junk. I think meal planning and a structured diet would have helped me eat more and lose the weight faster! Good for you!

Congrats on your baby!! I was where you were not long ago, my little one just turned 6 months! And our stats look very similar...I was 195 at birth and my goal weight is 145! I have 8lbs to go! This board has been a tremendous help and motivation! Good luck to you and check out the journals below! I found it very helpful to keep a food journal.
Also...you may want to eat a larger breakfast, I'm not an expert but I know I feel fuller with protein in the a.m. and on the days I don't I tend to overeat in the afternoons and dinner time.

Congrats again and good luck! Aggie

I'm laughing b/c I wish I could tell you what my excersise routine actually IS...not what I would like it to be. I try to go to the gym 3 days a week...I've been in phases...was doing boot camp for a while, then spinning, now I'm just walking on the treadmill for an hour (if I have someone to talk to it is much easier). But the last few weeks have been hard for me to get to the gym between lots of stuff going on and schedules and just not really being motivated to work out. I would say try to get in a good amount of cardio...slowly...I really don't think you have to kill yourself with the cardio. I found that I saw the most results when I started walking at a moderate pace on a small incline for an hour. I think I was overdoing it in spinning and getting my heartrate too high...I now believe what they say about staying in the fat burning zone. Especially for you, since you are only 7 weeks pp, I would ease back into things...but people told me that and I was running into spinning class at 8 weeks PP! In addition to cardio, adding weights is always a good thing, this is my biggest challenge.

I would say this way of eating has really helped, I did not do this after having my first child and I had some leftovers to lose this time around. I lost all of the pregnancy weight at 5 months, and am now working on the "leftovers"...=)!

Good luck and you can totally do this! Are you getting much sleep?

Welcome back! I also wish I had started eating healthy so soon after mine were born. I actually gained more in the post-partum period than I did in my pregnancies!

Sounds like you are on the right track - good luck!
