lowfat dairy question

Okay, so I am starting P1 today, but I have a dairy dilemma.
Because of lactose intolerance, milk is something I generally avoid. My usual thing is to eat 1 or 2 175g cups of plain, lowfat yogurt each day. The problem is, in my area (I live in Europe) I can't find any nonfat yogurt, only low fat (1.4%). Now, to make up the recommended 2 cups of dairy per day, I would need to eat about 3 cups of yogurt a day, which is 7 grams of fat altogether.
Is that too much fat? If so, what can I do about it?
There's no good soy milk available, either - they all have sugar added or are insanely expensive.
Any thoughts?

If the lowfat yogurt is all that's available I would say it's okay. It's important to have dairy as part of your diet. In phase 1 you should have 1-2 8 oz. cups per day (I'm not sure I follow why you would need 3 cups).
Another thought...can you buy non-fat dry milk in your area? Or, can you order it online?
Hi Karen!
Thanks for the idea..I will look around to see whether there is any nonfat dry milk here. Is dry milk better for people with lactose issues?
I wasn't too clear on the measurements...yogurt cups are smaller here..175 grams is about 5 1/2 ounces, which is why I'd need three of them to equal 2 measuring cups' worth of dairy. Am I counting that correctly?
Thanks for your response!

Margaret,
I don't know that dry milk is better....I kind of forgot you said you were lactose intolerant ;-P
One yogurt serving equals 8 oz.
Karen,
Thanks! So that means I should have 2 to 3(5.5 oz.) containers of plain yogurt each day. Lucky for me, this is pure yogurt I can get, without additives, but unfortunately, not completely fat free. We just don't have all the different options that are available in the North America, but I'm doing my best to find what's acceptable!
