Hi,


I'm excited about trying this diet, since I've decided to a new start this holiday season! I only need to lose about 15 pounds in total. Can I expect to really lose 8-10 lbs in phase I?  I get some light exercise  twice a week. Also, I've found a salad dressing that is calorie and sugar free. Can that be used on this diet? Are the nuts absolutely essential?

Good luck with South Beach -- check in often with questions if you have them and we'll be happy to support you during your weight loss. The holidays can be tough but stay on track as much as you can with each and every meal -- don't throw in the towel just because you treat yourself to a cookie or some mashed potatoes, LOL. You can do this, one meal at a time!

thanks for the support. I seem to like this program, but it feels like a lot of food (which is a good thing). I have to admit, I'm trying to deal with the caffiene amount, but I like my coffee (4 per day and soda 1) I hope this doesn't affect anything.


As this is day 3, the headache went away with two excedrin, and I seem to have increased energy.
