im confused on what to do.... i only have about 10 pounds to lose and whenever i try to go to phase 1 i always have to "start the next day" because i cannot seem to go without feeding my sweet tooth (or three of four times) so everytime i start over im mad at myself for not doing it so i was wondering if i should kill myself to get phase 1 over with or just start on phase 2. im really sad because i usually eat around 1,800 calories a day and for the pase three days ive had day 1- 2,200 calories day 2- 2,600 calories and day 3- 2,200 calories!! im SOO off track and so lost and i really want to do phase 1 and kick my cravings!! can you lend some advice and tips, and maybe a bit of insperation? thanks so much!!
i love running anywhere, but its espically special on the beach in the waves....

Are you allowing yourself legal sweet treats? You can feed your sweet tooth legally on phase 1. You can have sugar-free jello, sugar-free fudgsicles and popsicles, sugar-free hot chocolate, etc. Have you tried the SBD Peanut Butter cup? Soften a fudgsicle in the microwave for 15 seconds, scrape it off the stick and mix with 1 T peanut butter and 1 T cool whip.
Also, if you really can't do phase 1 - its not a big deal. You can successfully start the diet in phase 2. Its much better to just start in phase 2 than give up all together.

Questions for you:
What are you feeding your sweet tooth with?
Why not just take the heat off of yourself and do Phase 2.
I was thinking about you some more on my way to work.

Could it be that you psych yourself out with the idea of "dieting", and that makes you want to eat the extras?
Just a caution - I think 1400 calories a day is WAY too low if you are running as much as you are. You don't want your body to go into starvation mode. The biggest reason people stall is not eating enough. 2000 might be too high for weight loss - that is what I eat to maintain, but I wouldn't drop below 1600. I ate about 1600-1700 calories per day while I was losing and lost steadily. I was exercising 5 days a week, but I don't run, so I wasn't burning anywhere near the calories you are.
