I have been pretty sick over the last few months and through that process found out that my triglycerides were extremely high although everything else was normal. The doctor I was seeing for my pneumonia gave me a list of fats not to eat but when I had dinner with my mom that week she told me she didn't think that sounded right so I started researching. Turns out mom was right and not the Doc. Too much sugar and no exercise is what makes your tri's high when nothing else (LDL, HDL etc.) is wrong. In all my research I kept seeing things about the South Beach Diet and started researching it and then found you guys. From all my research on tri's and sugar this plan seems perfect so I'm starting TODAY!! Alot of it I have already been doing for a while but this gives specific guidelines which is great.
Now a few questions: I'm a very picky eater and there are only a few vegetables I will eat (cauliflower and cabbage mainly) so any ideas would be great there. I love that legumes count as veggies, wish I could have more than 1/2 cup. Also does anyone know of a place that I can find the approximate calories in some things, for example how do I find out how many calories are in my scrambled eggs? I know this may sound stupid but I have no idea how to figure that out. Thanks for any help!!!

Hi and welcome!
My triglycerides have improved dramatically on SBD.
