Hi,I'm new to SB.I'm a bit nervous about it,though.I've been on soooo many diets¬hing seems to work.My mom lost 100lbs. on SB,so I thought that I'd give this a try.I'm just concerned about the craving for carbs. We're Italian&am used to having my carbs(which is definately my problem)..Any pointers?Anything is much appreciated!!I'm 150 now&my goal is 120-125!Thanks a bundle..

Hi, and welcome!
Hi Kelli,
Welcome!
Welcome, good luck on your journey...
Welcome to the board! Congrats to your mom - that is awesome! It'll be great for you to have that support of someone who has done South Beach.
I'm Italian too, in fact one of my first posts here over 3 years ago mentions that. I was very worried about losing all the those family traditions that centered around food. But its been very easy to find healthy substitutes for my favorite dishes - we make a great phase 1 friendly lasagna that I actually like BETTER than my grandma's (using eggplant slices instead of noodles), I make a killer healthy chicken parm that everyone raves about. And I've actually found that my grandma's sunday "gravy" (meat and tomato sauce) is awesome over spaghetti squash instead of pasta, you actually get more of the flavor from the sauce.
Good luck!
