Hi all!
This is my second day on the Beach and so far so good :) I'd like to say that this forum has been a great resource and major kudos to all the members for keeping it fun!
A little about me:
I'm in my mid-thirties working a FT job and going to school at night to become a massage therapist. Needless to say, this has really messed up when I eat and what I am eating. Often when I get home at 10-10:30 PM all I want to do is shove something fast and easy down my gullet and attack my homework...not to mention that the word 'exercise' is a vague memory (I ran a 5K last year).
So it's On the Beach for me to provide some healthy eating structure and these message boards to help with the motivation.
Thanks and keep the boards alive!

Hey M,
Welcome to The Beach!!! I hear you about time constraints really hindering your efforts towards good health. All I can say is that *any* choice you make towards something more healthful going in your mouth or some type of movement working your body is a great choice. We're not all perfect, but striving towards developing and maintaining healthy habits. We're happy to offer suggestions, support, and sometimes a push on the backside toward getting back on track.
Good luck and hope you'll stick around so we can see you achieve your goal! :-)

Hi, and welcome to the board!
Hi
Hi!
So far so good (although I am having a craving for food NY style pizza)! I messed up this morning by buying vitamin water but after the first sip I realized that there must be a LOT of sugar in it....and viola - I was right. So I stopped immediately and switched back to regular filtered water. I'm going to bring in some lemon juice to work to 'spice-up' my water.
I agree the recipe section is great with lots of good ideas. Here's what I had yesterday:
B: Mock western omelette (egg beaters, Canadian ham, chili peppers and green peppers) & coffee with soy milk.
S: Wasn't hungry so didn't have a snack but had a cup of tea instead.
L: Mixed greens with chickpeas and green beans with a little fresh mozzarella (forgot I was meeting a friend for lunch)
S: Yogurt
D: 1/2 C. turkey & bean chili that I made in the crack pot
S: turkey roll-ups (with red pepper humus & cucumbers)
Any big tips on getting through phase 1?
Thanks,
~ M
I'm cracking up at your screen name...I'm a massage therapist so I might have to borrow that from you...lol.

I'm glad you like "Massage Ninja" ;) It's catchy for some weird reason and since I'm Asian (Korean not Japanese) it's extra fun. I have class Mon-Thurs from 6-10ish and clinic on Friday nights from 6-9ish. It's nice to hear that you're in the same profession and loving it. I'm not sure where I want to focus my career but I plan on taking the National test once I graduate at the end of September.
Thanks for the tip about preparing food ahead of time. I've found that to be my best weapon against temptation...I'm all about 'the plan' - lol. Monday night I cut, cleaned, and prepped just about everything in the refrigerator. I had the crock pot going with chili, made balsamic chicken breasts to put in the refrigerator for my salads during the week and even prepped my salads in zip lock bags (romaine lettuce, chick peas, sunflower seeds, green peppers, chii's, bean sprouts and feta cheese) so I can just grab a bag in the AM and bring it to work with me. I keep the dressing at work in the office refrigerator. Pretty soon, just about everything in there is going to have my initials on it! lol
Thanks again!
