Long time lurker starting P1 today!

I have been lurking for a long time.  I have been losing/gaining the same 15 - 20 pounds for a few years now.  Right now I am 5'5" and 175 pounds.  I am not happy with this at all.  With the spring/summer approaching, I am determined to not have another season where I don't want to put on a bathing suit or pair of shorts.  I started P1 today.  I work a double shift today, so it was hard to pack it all up, but here's my menu.  Please let me know what you think.


Breakfast:  2 c. coffee w/Splenda, skim milk; 2 scrambled eggs w/ 1/4 c. salsa & 2 tpsp. reduced fat mexican cheese.


Lunch:  Big romaine salad with turkey breast, lots of allowable P1 veggies, creamy italian dressing (was within the sugar allowance).


Dinner:  Another big salad w/grilled chicken, Ken's Light Italian dressing.


Snacks:  1 cheese stick and 12 almonds.


I want to do this right!  Please let me know if I am off track with this menu.  Tomorrow I'll be home, so I'll eat some hot meals, but working the double today, this is the best I can do.  I really appreciate any input.  You guys really know what you're talking about!!

Good luck!!! YOur menu sounds great - so long as the mexican cheese is 6g per serving or less fat and the turkey meat is all white!!

Welcome. And I TOO have no will power. I almost never stick to anything for more than..oh, one day? Always rewarded myself at the end of a day where I'd eaten well, by eating something really junky. Pretty much always undid my hard work.

Phase one is so short in the grand scheme of things and then phase 2 is so great - people marvel at what all I eat and am still losing weight!

Welcome............glad that you came out of lurking to say hi and officailly join us!


Your menu looks good but yes be sure to add in 2 cups of milk. You have some listed in your coffee but be sure to get 2 full cups. Also if you like jellos, the SF cups are great as a 'desert' after your lunch salad and are easy to take with you to work. That is what i do everyday and its pretty satisfying.


Keep us informed on your progress. You will be happy you came to the 'beach' and it won't be long before you will be happy wearing shorts. Keep that goal in mind :-)
