Plain FF yogurt rave - Oikos

Hi! I'm on day three of Phase 1 this time around after having a baby and neglecting my weight for a couple of years. I've had much success with SB previously and have gotten lots of good info and support here on this board back in 2004. :)

In any case, I tried a new yogurt today. It's a greek yogurt called Oikos. It's made by Stonyfield Farm, it's fat free and above all absolutely fabulous! I've never had a fat free yogurt that creamy. I added some natural PB to it and I was in total heaven. Just wanted to share. :)

Someone asked about other Greek yogurts. I really like Greek Gods yogurt, not as tart as Fage. Haven't tried the Oikos yet but I will!

Thanks for the tip!!! I think I may have seen this in the store. I really like the Fage, but I'm sure I would like any greek yogurt better if it wasn't quite as tart.

I bought some of the Greek Gods yesterday. It was thinner and not as smooth as Fage. But it tasted pretty good and was less than half the price. Not a bad option, but not my favorite.

Well, I was out today and looked for any kind of Greek yogurt...and nothing. Guess I'll have to make time to ask them about Greek yogurts at my local grocery next time I go. I'm making a list of things I think they should be carrying. They might not be so happy to see me coming...the list is pretty long!!!

Are there flavoured yoghurts that are legal? Especially of this brand?

In general, the flavored yogurts aren't legal until phase 2. I buy the Dannon Lite & Fit. It's legal (for phase 2 and beyond) and has all kinds of flavors. Amongst my favorites are white chocolate raspberry and orange mango.

As far as the greek yogurts go, I'm still looking for those in my stores. But I haven't heard of a legal flavored greek yogurt. You would need to look for one that is sweetened with splenda or another artificial sweetener and low in fat (preferably). There's just a few that fit that description. I think Blue Bunny makes a legal flavored yogurt as well. But I haven't been able to find those in my stores either.

Good luck in finding a yogurt that you like!!!

You'll also need to read the ingredient list on the flavored yogurt once you're in phase 2

This isn't a sugar-free yogurt.

I agree :) I was just posting the info for someone who asked. I'm more than happy with my plain Oikos. :)
