Nata's Phase 1 Journal / Start: 3 Feb 08
| Sun, 02-03-2008 - 8:40am |
Today is my official start on SB. I have tried a bit of it last week (couldn't wait) and it felt really fantastic! I celebrated my birthday yesterday with a wonderful cake and wine and now starting Phase 1.
My start weight is 137 lbs and my goal weight is 119 lbs, so I need to lose 18 lbs.
I have never been too big, have always been normal at school, then I moved from my parents and gained weight (restaurant food and lack of cooking experience) so I got to my maximum weight (146 lbs) then. After that I moved in with my boyfriend and he loves to cook and always makes healthy food, so my weight went down and stayed at 128 lbs for a long time. Then I quit smoking and gained weight (ate too much chocolate) to my current weight. It's already around 3 years I have been 137 lbs and I am tired of that!
I have never really dieted and have always eaten healthy enough but would eat too much of it and eat cookies or chips sometimes. I don't like sweet food, but I need to stop my overeating habit.
So today is my first day on phase 1, in this journal I will write down what I have been eating and weight myself every week (or maybe every second week - will see how it feels).

It's day 2 today
Breakfast: 2 eggs fried with tomatoes
A.M. Snack: almonds (14)
Lunch: canned tuna in water, cucumber, tomato and iceberg salad
P.M. Snack: Cottage cheese 2% with fresh dill
Dinner: Chicken filet with champignon, celery and cucumber.
I couldn't believe my eyes this morning when I stepped on the scales: 134 lbs! Well, I guess it's water weight but nice to feel smaller anyway.
I had a headache and was tired yesterday, but hoping it won't continue today!
I forgot to write down my dessert from yesterday: a glass of milk
Today my food will be:
Breakfast: cream cheese 2% fat with tomato and cucumber
A.M.Snack: almonds (15)
Lunch: two boiled eggs on a salad: lettuce, tomato, cucumber
P.M.Snack: cottage cheese 2% with fresh dill
Dinner: pangasius filet with haricots verts and mushrooms
Dessert: a glass of milk
Day 4
Weight 134
Breakfast: creamy cheese 2 % with cucumber
A.M.Snack: peanuts (20)
Lunch: 2 eggs with green beans, champignon and celery, and a tomato
P.M.Snack: cottage cheese with celery
Dinner: chicken filet with red peppers, squash and aubergine
Dessert: a glass of milk 0,1%
I have heard from many people that day 4 of anything new is the hardest. I hope everything goes fine and I do the right thing!
Thank you very much! I decided to stick with 2% cottage cheese, as it is the lowest fat % I could find.
Regards,
Nata
I am happy the day 4 is over and went quite well. The only bad thing was that it was around 6 hours between lunch and p.m.snack. I didn't have an opportunity to eat in between, but wasn't hungry either. I was just worrying about this gap because it's bad for blood sugar. Well,I am 134 lb today again :)
Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs with 2 tomatoes
A.M.Snack: walnuts (25)
Lunch: chicken with red peppers from yesterday and tomatoes
P.M.Snack: celery sticks with creamy cheese 2%
Dinner: fish with squash and mushrooms
Dessert: a glass of milk
Day 6
Down to 133 this morning.
Day 5 felt a bit harder than day 4, it was unexpected. BUT! My headache has finally disappeared and it's very nice! The dinner yesterday was fantastic :)
So today:
Breakfast: celery with cream cheese 2%
A.M.Snack: almonds (15)
Lunch: salad with cucumber and tomato and chicken filet
P.M.Snack: 2 boiled eggs with tomatoes
Dinner: meatballs with pork and veal meat (3-7% fat) with cauliflower, eggplant and a cabbage salad
Dessert: a glass of milk

Hi Nata,
Just wanted to say Welcome and Happy Belated Birthday!
hope the diet goes well for you. Actually, I really hate calling sbd a diet, even Phase 1. I've done SBD before and ideally, it will become the way you eat and think about food, rather than a method of losing weight. I've been on Phase 1 for only 4 full days, but already I can feel the difference in how my brain (and hence, my stomach) changes the way it perceives foods. Also, the more weight you have, the faster it will come off, so you have a very good chance of dropping lots of weight while on Phase 1. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
