Today was my first weigh-in in over 2 months. It was NO WHERE near as bad as I was expecting. Actually below my original high last summer, when I worked hard w/calorie counting and exercise to lose 12 whole lbs.

So, starting weight: 183.5 (seriously, I was certain it would be over 190 by now. So, good start to the Monday for me)

I won't  be pushing any exercise just yet. I have a "girls weekend" planned shortly, and it'll be right after my first two weeks. I know I won't completely behave in the eating/drinking dept, so I'll probably start journaling some exercise then to get myself going.

(note to anyone who cares: I did have my Dr's appointment this morning. He was very pleased that I was starting SBD. Felt it was a great life choice for me. Agreed it was the way to go to avoid adult onset diabetes and to get the sugar out of our lives. He's sending me for a FULL blood work up, and following that up with a consult and full head to toe physical next week. I feel great about that. He said phase 1 was fine for me, but obviously if something didn't feel good, to add in whatever I need. ALSO, he informed me that Ambien has gone generic (WHOO HOO! I can afford it!) and gave me a script. Sleep is a huge issue for me. It's part of why I'd been drinking in the evenings to relax. Knowing I can "pop that little pill" and blissfully drift off again will really really help)

B- 2 veggie quiche cups ~ 1 cup skim milk

S-15 raw almonds, 2 stalks celery w/1 wedge laughing cow

L-grilled chicken salad (no cheese) and Newman's vinegar and oil dressing

S-1 turkey roll up with mustard, and 2 kosher dill spears

D-Crockpot Fajhita (sp?) with spicy black beans on the side, and lf sour cream.

S-lemon mousse and hot passion tea.

S-Had a lf string cheese. Got hungry at the end of the night

(input please. Does this sound like too much food? Seems like a LOT when I put my snacks and lunch all in a bag! I am just so paranoid about getting hungry and making a 7Eleven run)

Hello!

I always feel like I am bringing an obscene amount of food with me too- but like you said, you never have to worry about making that junk food run, because you are prepared! Just make sure to get in all of your veggies and dairy, it really does make a difference! Good luck! :-)

Today I weighed (when I am watching what I eat, I do weigh daily. Keeps me focused) Down 3.5 lbs from yesterday. I know it can't be REAL, but at the same time, it sure was encouraging to see! Almost into the 170's!

B-2 scrambled eggs, 3/4 cup steamed spinach, 3 TBS LF shredded mozz. - 1 cup skim milk

S-2 stalks celery, 1 laughing cow wedge, 15 raw almonds

L-Left over fajita meat

Proud of myself. Had two perfectly "clean" eating days in a row. Hey, I do have a bit of discipline! I had some cravings yesterday afternoon for something, but it wasn't bad. And a sf cappuccino cured it. For the rest of the day, I just cruised right through. No deprived feelings at all! (ok, except I'd have LOVED a glass of wine last night. Oh well)

B - 2 hard boiled eggs, steamed spinach w/lf mozz - (and naughty me, a packet of crackers and pnut butter)

S-cheese stick

L-serving of white chicken chili with a diet vernor's (so good)

late L/Snack - green tossed salad w/Newman's vinegar and oil

And all day...WATER WATER WATER

D-Sirloin burgers (hubby make the BEST grilled burgers) w/onions, lettuce, mustard. and Spaghetti squash casserole.

Feeling great this morning. Took my first ambien last night, slept great. The other sleeping med I was using was really not working anymore. Plus, I really think I just FEEL better getting crap out of my system. Except for a few crackers yesterday, I have eaten 100%. That didn't trigger any more bad carb needs for me. I think that's a great sign.

B-2 scrambled eggs, steamed spinach w/2 T lf mozz, cup skim milk (I think I am going to cut this back to 1 egg, and maybe a piece of turkey bacon. Getting VERY full from this breakfast, though I love it. And if I can lose the fat in the extra egg, all the better)

S-Lf string cheese

Becky - If you're going to try turkey bacon, you can cook an entire package in the microwave, then keep it to have throughout the week.

Thanks Joy! I tried this and it worked great. I find the turkey bacon to be VERY salty though. Oh well. (oscar meyer.) Still I feel better with a piece of that and one egg today. Not so overly full.

Marchin' on... I REALLY need to add in some exercise soon here. And also...need to get my self armed and ready to survive a weekend. It worries me.

Breakfast: 2 strips turkey bacon, hardboiled egg, cup of skim milk and steamed spinach

Snack-Celery w/peanut butter

Lunch-probably South Beach legal Chipotle salad

Snack-Red bell pepper - Tbsp ranch dressing

Dinner-more than likely the chicken saltimbocca that I've been meaning to make, along with whatever veggies are on hand OR a salad (or both for me) and some rice for the rest of the gang.

Snack-Don't know yet. Might take the kids bowling, so I def. need to be prepared to stay out of junk.

You might want to try a different brand of turkey, until you find one that you like.
