Sheila's April Journal

OK, in the past I said I would journal, but I'm going to give it a try to keep myself accountable.
Lots of things going on in my life - major perimenopause issues and I can't tolerate any of the natural or Rx drugs for this. I'm also dealing with a lump on my breast they are "watching" and due to the family history, this is a cause for concern. I'm also dealing with hand issues and am splinted on both hands pretty much 24/7, which makes typing kind of funky. OVerallI tend to stress eat and because of it, my weight kept creeping up. I'm working on a Phase II light for now as I know grains are my downfall. I love my breads!
Here is my menu for today and I will update/edit as necessary
Breakfast: 1 cup steel cut oats, with small amount of walnuts,
Cup of Chai tea made with 8 oz of milk (2% as I don't like 1% or skim - this is my personal choice)
Snack: Bananna
Lunch: 2 cups of vegetable soup - tons of veggies, but not near enough to the 4.5 daily cups
Snack: Celery with Laughing Cow Lite herbed cheese
Dinner: Going to be on the run tonight (as usual) but I'm aiming for Wendy's Chili and a side salad.
Also during the day at work I'll have another cup of chai tea made with milk, and abottle or two of water and my diet coke. I should tell you that I'm a diet coke addict and in the past week, I've limited myself to one a day and trying to add in more water as I'm not a big water drinker.
I started back on Phase II light last week and have seen a 2.5 lb loss so far.

Sheila, have you ever tried the "Skim Plus" milk?
I don't think I've ever seen that, but will start looking for it.
My MD swears by Soy milk - but I "itch" after drinking it and can't even take soy for my peri-menopausal issues for the same reason.
Joy,
Check the ingredient label on your Skim Plus milk.
Good idea; I'll check it out.
Today's 4/4 food intake
Friday night I ate way too many pistachios, but other than that, did OK for the day
Saturday was very light on eating - just not hungry still
Breakfast - nothing
Lunch - SB chicken wrap meal, ate only 1/2 of the noodles that came with the seasame chicken wrap and used very little of the dressing, did not eat the jello.
Snack - banana
Dinner - large chicken ceasar salad, very little dressing, less than a tablespoon
I'm pretty sure I ate at least 4.5 cups of salad for dinner.
