If I'm cooking a roast and potatoes (for the rest of the family) together in the crockpot, do the potatoes effect the roast at all? What about the drippings for gravy? (ok, so I wouldn't be able to thicken the gravy, would I?) Is it ok to cook them all together and for me to just eat the meat and veggies, not the potatoes?

I think it would be fine to just eat the meat and veggies.

I know I'm late on this but if you are in phase 2 or 3 you could make a thickening agent out of ww flour and water. Basically make a slury. Defat the drippings, add the slury and heat to a boil. This will cause a SB friendly gravy!!

There are some canned/jarred gravies that are allowed on SBD Phase 2. Beef, turkey, mushroom and chicken gravies without added sugars are permitted. Brown gravy mix (in an envelope) prepared with water is also permitted.
