Ingredients This snack is great when you want something crunchy.
16-ounce can of garbanzo beans (chick peas)
Seasoning of your choice Suggestions: Onion powder, garlic powder, and Kosher salt Cinnamon powder and sugar substitute Soy or teriyaki sauce Chili powder Italian seasoning mix Herb mixes like Mrs. Dash Curry powder (can be combined with other spices)
Instructions Rinse and drain a 16-ounce can of garbonzos (chick peas).
Sprinkle seasoning of your choice on them and toss well.
Spread them on a cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment paper or on a non-stick cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray.
Spray the chickpeas with cooking spray. Sprinkle more seasoning over top.
Bake at 300 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally until done. Try not to over-cook them because they get a little crunchier after cooling.
You can also add in your nut serving afterwards.
Enjoy, but remember that too many beans can be a diet buster. 1/3 to 1/2 cup of beans is a serving.
I did this last night, but cooked them for 20-25 minutes on 425. I used plenty of salt and garlic powder. They turned out quite good! Also, if you undercook them, they are still good on top of a salad.
