Is there anyway to make this at home? Preferably with a store bought crust? I miss it.

If you really love your pizza, you CAN enjoy a thin crusted pizza every now and then once you're in phase-2, without guilt!

I think the thin crust pizza sounds great. And I know a place I can go to, tho it's not that convenient, for whole wheat crust occastionally. Thanks.

I love thin crust pizza so the ww tortillas work great for me. My dd loves making her own too. We use sauce and lf ricotta w/ turkey pepperoni, onions, olives, ham, spinich w/ lf mozz. Once I made a pizza w/ garlic hummas and chicken. I bake them right on the oven rack so they get super crispy. I'll never order pizza again. I just love it this way.

hope this helps,

Tricia

I made these last night. They're so good with some chopped up turkey bacon slices on them, also!

Oh yeah! I've used that too. Yummy. That's our treat at least once a week. I think I'll make something similar but make it into an open faced fajita. That sounds good too. I love this board, we get such great ideas from eachother. That's what's so great about sbd, the food never gets boring.

Where are ya'll finding WW tortillas and turkey peperoni? Does it taste the same as reg. peperoni? This sounds kind of good. And the "crust" gets crispy? How exactly do you make it? Temp? Olive Oil or something on the crust?

Hi Amy,

Here's my original post about the ww tortilla pizza:

http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-fbsouthbeach/?msg=6939.1

Some people have said it's too garlicky, since I use pesto & fresh garlic, so just adjust it to your taste. :)

I have found ww tortillas in different places, depending on the store. In A&P, it's in the deli near the roast chicken & the sausages. It's a free standing display of wraps. In Shop Rite, they're in the refrigeration case with cheeses, across from the bread aisle. I don't know what region of the country you're from--you might have different stores. For me, they're hard to find, so when I do find them, I buy a bunch & store them in the freezer.

I haven't found turkey pepperoni, but then I haven't looked for it. I really like Louis Rich turkey bacon on top of pizza, and I add tons of veggies like peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, eggplant.

I use cookie sheets or pizza pans, but some people put them just on the rack. For me, that would be tough since I load my pizzas down a bit -- would make a mess!

Hope you enjoy it!

Will probably make this on Sunday-thanks for the link I printed the recipe-I should have done a search, duh. Sounds really good. Your original post said to use whole wheat wraps, if I used the tortilla do I need to brush it w/ oilve oil or anything?

Hi Amy,

I think of a wrap and tortilla as one and the same. I've also seen ww lavash bread, and I would use that too.

I like to brush with a little olive oil -- I think it makes it better, but I don't think it's necessary.

Enjoy!

Rebecca

PS I'm glad someone is using the recipe. I was excited to discover it, but didn't hear much feedback from my original post.
