Whole wheat bread crumbs?
| Thu, 06-24-2004 - 11:33pm |
I just got my SBD cookbook, and have been earmarking the things I want to try. Several of the recipes call for whole wheat bread crumbs. Does anyone know where to get these? Or are you supposed to make them yourself from whole wheat bread? (I'm not sure I would know how!) I live in a medium size town with a few pretty good grocery stores, but nothing like Central Market, Trader Joe's or the likes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Julie

Here's what I do. Just put some slices of SBD-friendly ww bread in your food processor. (I like Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain.) If the recipe calls for other ingredients that need to be chopped --- for example, the oven fried chicken calls for parsley & garlic & parmesan, I believe -- I put those other ingredients in the Cuisinart at the same time.
Hope that helps!
Becky
Hi Julie, I've yet to find whole wheat or whole grain breadcrumbs in the store yet.
