Can we pretty please have some, please? Are there any SBD friendly recipes for these sweet treats (with ingredients readily found at the grocery store) that taste good? If not maybe I should go back to Ph. 1 because I would kill for a cupcake right now.

Amy,

One of these might have the recipe you're looking for.

Be strong! There are some fabulous SBD dessert/sweet recipes that might help substitute for cake, brownies, and cupcakes. If I might suggest it, here's a few ideas:

PB cookies with chocolate chips (do a search here; I like the recipe that uses vanilla)

FF vanilla pudding with sliced strawberries (and some Redi Whip Lite if you want)

FF chocolate pudding with Redi Whip Lite & toasted almond slices

Softened no-sugar-added fudgicle with 1T PB & some Redi Whip Lite, all mixed together.

Also, dh & I took a break from ricotta cremes and now we love them again. We especially like one made with SF chocolate syrup, some cinnamon, vanilla, 1 packet Equal, and a few chocolate chips on time.

You can get past this temptation! Stay on the Beach with us :)

My latest craze is two spoonfuls of natural peanut butter w/ splenda topped w/ two spoonfulls of sf/ff choc pudding topped w/ pecans...YUMMY!!!!!!!!! My mouth is literally watering right now. Must go make dinner.

Yummmm! PB is so great, isn't it? Every once in a while if a sweet craving hits, I have a spoon of natural PB with 2-3 chocolate chips on top. I keep my choc. chips in the freezer, so it's also a cooling snack :).

Yesterday I had a 1/2 banana sliced lengthwise and spread with PB. It was heavenly, too!

Hope you're having a great day, Tricia. (P.S. I used to know a Patricia Currier from Canada!)

I eat things like that but sometimes you just want a rich brownie or cupcake, ya know. I guess I could just have it occassionally at a restaurant (so there isn't a big pan of them sitting at home) and half it with the hubby.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Isn't that wild to know two Tricia Curriers. I don't seem to run into people with my name. The banana pb snack sounds yummy. I'll try that. I have some semi sweet chocolate chips in the freezer, can we have some of that too? How much and how often?

cheers!

Tricia

I hear you. I also remember that recently someone posted a link to a SBD recipe website with a brownie recipe. Try doing a search above (find messages about) for brownie. Or else look through the recent posts in the recipe section.

And I agree with the idea to split a dessert with dh when you go out. I think a cheat like that every once in a while does our souls some good :)

Well, I got started on choc chips because the SBD book lets you put a few mini choc. chips on your ricotta creme. Dr. A. also lets you have a little bit of dark chocolate in moderation as an occasional treat. So I interpret that as 2 very dark choc. chips as being okay every once in a while. (I'm sure I'll get my hand slapped now by somebody LOL!)
