Any ideas on how to flavor plain oatmeal. All I know to do is cook some apples in some brown sugar and butter and I know I can't do that so I am at a loss as to what to do with it.

Hi Amy,

I like adding 1 tbsp of peanut butter, a splash of vanilla extract and 1 splenda packet - your carb competitor is built right in.

Okay. Might have to try this now. Sounds good. I have the Irish steel cut oats I tried last year that I didn't like. But maybe with this added...

What kind of oatmeal do you use?

I started out sweetening mine with sugarfree pancake syrup. Since I'm not crazy about the pancake syrups we've tried, I tired the Davinci hazelnut syrup. Very good! I've always liked my oatmeal with brown sugar, and this is just as good. Our grocery only has hazelnut and rasberry syrups, so I haven't tried any others yet.

I use Quaker old fashioned oatmeal.

Oh, good deal. The long-cooking. I like that. I'm all for hearty, but the steel cut oats were like eating a tree.

Yes, quick cooking oats or instant are not recommended.

Hi there!

I have oatmeal every morning. I cook it in a shallow nonstick pan with a little cinnimon. Then on top I put berries or nectarines (very good). Then top with a little FF Half and half.

So good.

I love adding stuff to my oatmeal! I usually start with chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, almonds) cinnamon, nutmeg, 1pkt splenda, and then from there I add some fruit mashed banana is really yummy (it's a great use for ripe bananas!) any type of berry, the other day I added some frozen blueberries during the last few minutes of cooking, but srawberries and raspberries are great too.

I use Old Wessex Irish Style Oatmeal they only take 5 mintues on the stove top, I really enjoy them.

Enjoy!

Hi, I put in some chopped walnuts, Splenda, cinnamon, some blueberries, a couple of squirts of I can't believe its not Butter spray and a tiny bit of soymilk, just to moisten it up. I love it this way, I call it my "Blueberry muffin oatmeal".
