Hi Heather,

I wasn't too wild about them at first, but they kind of grow on you.

I tried a chocolate almond one night before last, and it was pretty good. I used cocoa for the chocolate.

Last night I whipped up a cherry cottage cheese dessert that is really good. I used 1 cup of 1% cottage cheese and 1 cup of hot water to 1 pkg s/f cherry Jello. I made sure to blend it really, really well and while it has some texture, I don't think it's quite as gritty as the ricotta.

The other thing you can do is to make up the S/F Jello and replace the one cup of cold water with one cup of plain yogurt. It's not quite as good as fruit in the yogurt, but has a much smoother texture.

Hope you find one you like.

Shar,

The yogurt/SF jello sounds good (and smooth)!!! I have a real "texture issue"- I can't eat lumpy or gritty things at all!!

Love the ricotta creme!!! It's gotta be Polly-O though. Sorrento is awful - very lumpy texture.

If you're going with vanilla (my favorite!) you have to use pure vanilla extract. It's expensive, but the fake stuff just doesn't cut it. This one is the easiest... just three ingredients and mix well with your spoon.

I found a maple extract that is pretty good - I can get away with using imitation vanilla with it. Another easy one - just add maple to the vanilla recipe.

Chocolate and peanut butter is good too - imitation vanilla, cocoa powder, and natural pb. Very rich! I actually felt a "sugar buzz" - even though it was sugar free! This one should be blended so the peanut butter gets mixed in all the way.

I've tried the almond creme and the chocolate one and was not impressed with either. Not that they were awful, just not as good as plain 'ol vanilla.
