I made the Brownies yesterday and they were delicious- but not actually brownies. Mine crumble up to the point you can't hold them and have to eat them with a spoon. I think I my try something today with the FF, SF chocolate pudding and them- very small serving! and some whipped topping. I can't find sugar substitute brown sugar so I had to use all splenda instead but I can't believe that made so much difference.

What's the recipe for the brownies? Are they okay for phase 1?

This was from another site I visit. There was also one with oatmeal but since it used quick oats I wasn't sure it was legal.

Whole Wheat Brownies 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups splenda
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring occasionally. Cool.

Beat chocolate mixture, sugar, eggs and vanilla at medium speed 1 minute.

Beat in flour and salt at low speed until blended. Beat at medium speed 1 minute. Bake in 13 x 9 x 2 inch greased pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

You were right, quick oats are not SBD friendly.

I actually used Brummel and Brown for butter - and just the splenda. The original was 1/2 brown sugar substitute and smart balance. Maybe because the brown sugar sub is stickier or something and the smart balance is more oil than water? To tell the truth, I am a decent cook but a poor baker anyway. My mom use to say I was too heavy handed.
