Susan and Cathy, have they addressed this question yet on the official site?

I tried the SBD Cereal Bars in Peanut Butter (CarbWell). I was pleasantly surprised. They are actually pretty good. They taste somewhat like a luna bar - very crunchy and it has tons of peanut butter on it! A keeper!

I must say I am beginning to believe these new convenience foods are a step in the wrong direction. The diet seems to sold out to society's need for quick-fix foods that aren't all that healthy. Yes, these may be better than their non-SBD approved alternatives, but they aren't that better. And I fear that people are going to overuse them, which I do not see as healthy at all. I know I occasionally am short on time and I confess to eating frozen entrees or bars at times, but I do this rarely and I realize that I am cheating. I hate to think people are going to eat these all the time and truly believe they are living a healthy lifestyle.

That's my little rant . . .

I agree with you on the bars and cereal. There's too much sugar and not enough fiber - in addition to all the other ingredients that are questionable. BUT...the pizza and wraps are fabulous and are within my personal guidelines, esp. for convenience foods. I don't have time (or the palate) to fix everything from scratch and it get's so boring so I'm very pleased with these foods.

As far as a review:
The pizza is great. The crust is very good as is the sauce. They use mostly non-fat cheese with a little regular sprinkled in for more taste and texture. My mom just had a wrap (we don't mind a little real bacon). She called and said it was great and she will definately buy it again.

Hi!! I am just curious I looked at the south beach cereal bars today and I was just
wondering if the suger is 7 grams and the sugar alcohol is 3 doesn't that mean the
sugar is really 4 grams? thanks Jennifer

jjaabb,

I think you are confusing sugar grams with net carbs.

If you do count net carbs (which I do to an extent) then you subtract any sugar alcohols from the total carb count. The amount of sugars does not change with the sugar alcohols. HTH Lisa
