I am craving a sloppy joe... anyone have any sugar free/SBD friendly ideas to make a mock sloppy joe? Thanks!

This might fit the bill:

If you don't have a crockpot, I'm sure they would be great on the stovetop, too!

Here's my old stand-by Sloppy Joe recipe, I think it would be very easy to make it SBD-friendly...

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
3/4 cup ketchup (use sugar-free ketchup)
3 teaspoons brown sugar (use brown sugar substitute or Splenda)
salt to taste ground
black pepper to taste
Directions
1 In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onion, and green pepper; drain off liquids.
2 Stir in the garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, salt and pepper and brown sugar; mix thoroughly. Reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes.

Does anyone know if I can make the crockpot cheeseburger without browning the meat first? I would like to put the raw meat in the pot along with the other ingredients (I'm lazy!!)

TIA,
