I usually use light "salad dressing," the Great Value brand. This isn't mayo, but fake Miracle Whip. Is this okay to use? Do the same rules apply for the amount we can use?

thanks!

Here's the official response on Miracle Whip:

Miracle Whip is a cooked salad dressing that contains 50% soybean oil, while mayonnaise is an uncooked salad dressing that contains 80% soybean oil.

Since Miracle Whip contains less soybean oil, it would contribute less of the nutrients compared to mayonnaise. This would make mayonnaise a better choice compared to Miracle Whip.

Miracle Whip can be used, but it is not as good a choice. It would also need to contain no more than 3 grams of sugar per serving. The serving is the same as mayonnaise - 1 tablespoon in place of the oil at lunch and dinner, or 1 teaspoon at breakfast.

You may continue to use the light. You can use either light or regular.

Jennifer my new, much easier way to enjoy deveilled eggs is just to slice a hard boiled egg, dup out the yolk and scoop in some hummus... I like the cracked chili pepper one or the jalapino humus spread.

Susan :)
